TTD TEMPLE IN VIJAYAWADA OPENED ON A RELIGIOUS NOTE

The replica temple of Lord Venkateswara constructed by TTD in PWD grounds of Vijayawada is opened on a grand religious note on Sunday amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns by Agama pundits and temple priests.

The Maha Samprokshana ceremony has been performed by a team of priests in a ceremonial manner by performing special homam, Nivedana etc. The entire religious procedure of the temple took place ‪between 7:30am and 9am. Later the presiding deity is opened for public darshan as per Vaikhanasa Agama norms. As soon as the temple opened for public darshan, devotees surge to the temple picked up. TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao along with Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju took part in this fete.

Speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, “As the temple opened up five days prior to the Krishna Pushkarams, the local devotees can have a pleasant darshan. All the arjitha sevas including Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana, Nivedana, Sattumora will be performed in Ekantam. Apart from these sevas, the Ekanta Seva is performed as a closing ritual of the day every day where in the replica of Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy is laid on a swing. All these rituals are performed till the completion of Krishna pushkarams. Every day there will be unjal seva of Lord and His Consorts on the well decked swing in the temple premises. The Pushkara Harati is also rendered every day at Padmavathi Ghat. TTD has also made elaborate arrangements to distribute free food to over one lakh devotees every day during Pushkarams. To see these arrangements, we have deputed 650 employees and 1000 Srivari sevakulu to take care of the pilgrims”, the EO added.

Later Tirumala JEO who is also the special officer for Krishna Pushkarams, Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju said, “The pilgrim devotees can have a hassle free darshan in four lines with separate entry and exit points. The annaprasadam said and mini laddus will also be distributed to pilgrims after darshan. We have also organised devotional cultural programmes in Amaravathi, PWD Grounds, Srikakulam Andhra Maha Vishnu temple and at Alampur Jogulamba temple. The different exhibitions including photo, flower, museum, ayurveda etc. are going to be the special attraction during the fete. TTD has also arranged a book stall with its publications and CDs in the grounds for the sake of public”, he maintained.

Later the officers duo released a book penned jointly by Prof. Natraj and Smt Vijayalakshmi Chandran named, “Approaches to Vishnu Sahasranama”, an English book with brief details of each name of Lord Vishnu. Later they were felicitated on this occasion. SE 3 Sri Sudhakar Rao and Special Officer of Publications Sri Prayaga Ramakrishna were also present.
